Militants in north Lebanon have kidnapped a second soldier since fighting erupted in Tripoli two days ago, the army said in a statement Sunday.
Fayez al-Amouri, a first adjutant from the army’s border regiment, was kidnapped from his home in Tripoli's Bab al-Tabbaneh neighborhood.
An investigation has been launched in an effort to determine his whereabouts, the statement said.
The abduction came one day after militants kidnapped soldier Tannous Nehme from a taxi, also in Bab al-Tabbaneh.
The army has been engaged in fierce clashes with militants in the north since Friday night.
