Mild quake hits Lebanon

A tremor measuring 2.8 on the Richter scale hit the northern and eastern parts of Lebanon on Thursday, according to Lebanese police.  

 

The earthquake was felt in the northern port city of Tripoli, Akkar, in northern Lebanon and some areas in the ancient city of Baalbeck in eastern Lebanon, they said, according to the Saudi Press Agency.  

 

There were no reports of casualties or material damage, they further added. (Albawaba.com)
