For the 5th consecutive year, Jumeirah Group is teaming up with Mercato for the annual DSS event known as the Jumeirah Giant Charity Cake Sale, in support of Dubai Autism Centre.

More than 60 executive pastry chefs from Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts have teamed up to prepare an exquisite display of 3,065 mouthwatering cakes. This number represents the total number of rooms provided by Jumeirah Group’s Dubai Hotels & Resorts.

The Jumeirah Giant Charity Cake Sale will take place on July 11th from 6.00pm to 10.00 pm at Mercato. The evening will feature a variety of delicious cakes consisting of many flavors, designs and sizes, with choices to satisfy everyone’s taste. Each cake will be sold for Dhs 30 and all proceeds will be donated to Dubai Autism Centre.

Andy Cuthbert, Executive Assistant Manager for Food and Beverage at Jumeirah Hospitality said, “July 11th will see Jumeirah hold, for the fifth year running, the Giant Cake Sale at Mercato. We are very proud to once again hold this annual event at Mercato and it is one of the events that I personally look forward to each year, as it is for a great cause and also a lot of fun for our colleagues to take part in as well as for the general public.”

Rana Jaser, PR & Corporate Communication Manager of Mercato added, “We are glad to team up with Jumeirah Group once more to host this event in Mercato during Dubai Summer Surprises 2008. The event has been a great success in the past. Year after year, this event gains more popularity and our customers always look forward to it. We are happy to involve the Dubai Autism Centre. Mercato also hosted the “Autism Awareness month” in April, in order to educate the public about Autism, and we hope that this event will continue to add to these efforts”.
