Mecca Mall, one of the numerous projects of Al Kurdi Group, a prominent real-estate company and owner of Abdoun Mall, Green Land and Jordan Mall, organized a foot race activity on Friday, April 27th in cooperation with Eddie Castelli, founder of Eddie’s running center known for its efforts to spread health awareness about walking benefits and its good effects on heart, body and soul. This event comes as part of the group’s commitment to host and participate in social activities.
Mr. Mohammad Kurdi, Member of board of directors and partner of Al Kurdi Group, was present at the opening of the foot race which started at 10:00 am sharp. All participants gathered at Mecca Mall’s forth gate twenty minutes prior to the beginning of the race in order to take enough time to stretch out in preparation for the long walk. It’s worth mentioning that there were no entry fees and each of the race participants was given a free T-shirt. Also there was a light buffet, sponsored by Wakeem’s, awaiting the walkers at the finish line.
The foot race included two tracks for two age groups. Participants aged 15 and younger walked a 4 km path (4 laps), whereas 16 years and older participants walked a 6km path (6 laps).
“We are happy to be here today sharing Jordanians this health activity. I would like to thank Eddie Castelli for joining us and help us spread awareness concerning health issue. Through this walking race, the group wishes to deliver messages concerning walking benefits on the body and soul,” said Mr. Mohammad Kurdi, Member of board of directors and partner of Al Kurdi Group. “We also strive to enhance and sustain our corporate social responsibility through involving in community projects and activities”, added Mr. Kurdi.
