Middle East Broadcasting Corporation (MBC), the leading regional television channel, announced today the first episode of The Investor, the Arabian entrepreneurial reality show, is due to go on air on the 21st January 2006.
Led by Walid Al Juffali, the prominent Saudi businessman with a global vision, The Investor challenges 13 pairs of would-be entrepreneurs with intriguing new business tasks. Each couple consists of family members highlighting the family aspect of business in the Arab world.
“MBC has sought to develop a programme that is not only culturally relevant but also gives voice to young entrepreneurs looking for business opportunities in the Middle East” said Mohammed Al Mulhem, Director of Marketing, Public Relations, and Commercial.
The Investor reflects MBC’s commitment to business issues in the Middle East, and contributes positively to the ongoing efforts to release the potential of the region by giving its young population platforms and opportunities for nurturing and developing their entrepreneurship skills.
BMW, the worldwide manufacturer of automobiles and motorcycles, known for its premium standards and outstanding quality for all its brands, was one of the sponsors of “The Investor”.
Through “Business Edge” management training program, The International Finance Corporation (IFC), were selected by MBC to participate in the show to enrich the business content and develop more relevant and challenging business tasks for the prime time program. They also played a role in the decision making process primarily done by Al Juffali to disqualify contestants from further rounds.
“It is important for us to always be relevant to the people of this region. MBC’s commitment is not just meeting a viewing need across its broadcast footprint, but to provide a positive reality challenge that can inspire viewers as well as contestants,” added Al Mulhem.
The first episode of The Investor is scheduled to air on the 21st of January 2006.
