MBC 3 celebrates its first anniversary with the launch of the region's first reality show for kids, Aish Safari. The series, shot in a game park in South Africa, brought together 14 kids from all over the region to face the challenge of living far away from home, family, friends, and civilization. They tackled they challenges throughout, and learned about survival in their new and extreme environment.
Since it launched, MBC3 quickly established a reputation for quality and world-class programming for kids, through a unique mix of pre-k, animation, live action programming and movies. But more importantly, MBC3 has won a place in the hearts and lives of the kids and families of KSA for entertaining children.
"MBC has a well-established reputation for establishing trends in the broadcast industry. It did so when it launched MBC3 last year as the station catering specifically for children's needs," said Amanda Hartford, MBC 3 Channel Manager. "Since then, MBC3 has achieved success after success in reaching out to children and families of the region through entertaining and educational programmes."
Among MBC3's unique offers include presenters Danyah and Hassan speaking to kids in their language and at their level, with unprecedented success. Personal appearances by the two have been welcomed by thousands of kids in local malls, at summer festivals, and at special events. During Ramadan, the channel’s Kids Helping Kids Campaign garnered tens of thousands of gifts for kids in need in both Riyadh and Jeddah.
Since its inception where it received over 40,000 emails in its first week, MBC 3 continues to focus on connecting with its audience, requesting their participation in the programming of the channel, in contests, and in sharing their special moments.
MBC 3 has also entered into an agreement with BVITV to introduce a Disney on 3, an hour long Disney branded block to its line-up five days a week. Of course, MBC 3 will continue to bring best programming to its screens, including such titles as internationally rated Atomic Betty, Code Lyoko, The Fantastic Four, Naturally Sadie and Scooter: Secret Agent.
Also ahead, MBC 3’s on-air look will be unveiled on the 8th with all new packaging featuring their iconic green cube that comes to life, as well as a new season of Ahla Alam, its live hosted afternoon.
“We expect more great things from MBC 3, which has grown from an idea to a household name within a very short period. We are proud that there is a new generation that will be able to grow up with a modern, fun channel that respects and reflects its constantly evolving young audience,” noted Amanda.
Children's channel MBC3 followed MBC 2 in 2004, exemplifying the broadcaster's careful study and knowledge of its audience. With over 40% of the Arab population less than 15-years-old, the company understood the new channel would target a niche but sizeable new generation of MBC viewers.
