Mashreq, the UAE's leading financial institution, is now offering free online international remittance. Applicable to all customers who wish to send money anywhere outside of the UAE via MashreqOnline or MashreqMobile Banking, the service provides complimentary SWIFT transfers.
The "free online international remittance" offer, which was launched in March2010 and expires in the end of June, led to an increase in number of transactions by 65% and the amount of remittance also registered 47% growth.
Commenting on the promotion, Douglas Beckett, Head of Retail Banking Group, Mashreq said: "We understand that many customers in the UAE send a substantial amount of money back home to their families. As a way to show our support, we have launched this limited period of free remittance promotion to help make our customers financial life a little less stressful. The offer also reiterates our promise to provide the best value for money through products and services that truly make a difference."
Customers who wish to send money overseas are encouraged to do so through the following channels; MashreqOnline and MashreqMobileBanking. Through the service customers will gain access to the UAE's most competitive exchange rates and -waiver of SWIFT transfer fees.

Funds can also be safely and securely transferred from the comfort of their homes. As an added benefit, all transactions to India that are requested before 10am from Monday to Thursday will be processed on the same day and funds will be credited within 24 hours to any bank in India.
