The Vice President was accompanied by nine other individuals when the plane vanished. Despite extensive efforts by aviation authorities, no contact has been established with the aircraft.

ALBAWABA- A plane carrying Malawi's Vice President, Dr. Saulos Chilima, has gone missing after failing to land as scheduled at Mzuzu International Airport on Monday. The aircraft departed from the capital city Lilongwe at 09:17 local time lost contact with aviation authorities and has not been seen on the radar since.

The Vice President was accompanied by nine other individuals when the plane vanished. Despite extensive efforts by aviation authorities, no contact has been established with the aircraft.

In response to the incident, the Commander of the Malawian Army, General Valentino Phiri, informed President Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera, who has canceled his planned trip to the Bahamas. 

The President has ordered an immediate search and rescue operation involving all regional and national agencies to locate the missing plane and its passengers.
