A majority of Satellite TV channels have a presence on the Internet: Yet a few have a clear online strategy for revenue generation.

As of April 2006, 205 satellite channels were broadcasting on Arabsat and Nilesat satellite systems. 66.8% of these satellite channels have an online presence namely a website or a portal tied to the channel.

A new report, “The Online Presence of FTA Satellite Channels in the Arab World” was released to the Arab Advisors Group’s Media Strategic Research Service subscribers on May 17, 2006.
