Volvo asserts its support to the implementation of safety standards and wish to play a vital role in road safety
H.E. Major General Nasser Likhreibani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, today - Tuesday 30th of June 2009 – welcomed Tomas Ernberg, Managing Director of Volvo Cars Middle East, to his office.
Major General Al Nuaimi, emphasized during the meeting the enthusiasm of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, in reinforcing relations with various sectors and establishments. He highlighted and expressed appreciation for Volvo's recent initiative in the events of the Gulf Traffic Week, by presenting two cars to the winners in the "Traffic Points" competition.
Tomas Ernberg reiterated Volvo's attention to the implementation of safety standards in car manufacturing. He referred to the fact that their participation in Gulf Traffic Week is linked to the mutual cooperation between Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters and commercial enterprises. The desire is to support the continuous efforts of Abu Dhabi Police aimed at reinforcing public awareness in various safety and police related matters, including educating drivers and road users about the best traffic safety tools.
Towards the end of the meeting both Major General Al Nuaimi and Regional Manager of Volvo Cars exchanged commemorative plaques.
