Egyptian foreign minister Ahmad Maher denied
Saturday that his visit to the Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat Friday in Ramallah was because of pressure exercised against the latter.
Maher stressed that the Israeli media's circulation in this respect was baseless.
The Egyptian foreign minister told the Middle East News Agency that his mission was aimed at updating Arafat about results of the talks held by the U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell with the Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak and the various points of view that were presented. (Albawaba.com)
