Egypt’s Foreign Minister Ahmed Maher said Monday that Arab countries had nothing to fear from the US-led war on terrorism.
“Egypt is convinced that not one Arab country will be the target of the American campaign against terrorism,” Ahmed Maher told students at the American University in Cairo, cited by the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
However, he blamed “violent Israeli policies” for the crisis in the Middle East, adding that the only solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict was two separate states based on mutual respect and recognition.
Israel, however, has trampled on every peace agreement and threatened peace in the region and the entire world, Maher said.
Maher was quoted by agencies as saying that his country believed there was “solid grounds for the US attacks on Afghanistan."
