ALBAWABA - French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in Israel in a solidarity visit on Tuesday, Israeli media reported.
According to media sources, Macron is set to visit the families of the hostages and then he is expected to meet Israeli President Isaac Herzog, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Benny Gantz, and former prime minister Yair Lapid.
Furthermore, the French leader is also set to meet Palestinian officials in Ramallah.
After the West Bank visit, Macron is set to visit Jordan and meet with Abdullah II on Tuesday evening.
The visit of Macron came days after U.S. President Joe Biden's official visit to Israel. Secretary of State Antony Blinken also held a trip to Tel Aviv amid an intense war between Hamas and Israel.
On Oct. 7, the Hamas military group announced the Al-Aqsa Flood operation against Israel taking about 203 hostages.
Israel announced striking the Gaza Strip in response to the operation carried out by the al-Qassam group.
According to Palestinian media, over 110 Palestinians including women and children were killed in Israeli airstrikes overnight in Gaza.
