Worldwide ambassadors and commercial attaches were invited to discover exciting synergies, opportunities, and developments under way in the ambitious Ma'an Development Area at a stimulating event held at the prestigious Four Seasons Amman Hotel on May 31, 2010
The business lunch was an introduction to exciting investment possibilities, exposing embassies to the various aspects of this series of landmark projects that will bring about social and economic prosperity to the Ma'an area and Southern Jordan as a whole.
At the event, Mr. Mohammed S. Turk, CEO of Ma'an Development Company welcomed the esteemed guests, stating, "Today is an exciting opportunity to be part of a multi-faceted landmark project. MDA is set to become a regional hub for industrial activity and a centre of excellence for vocational training, all the while elevating standards of living in Ma'an." Mr. Turk also commented saying "MDA is already proving to be a valuable and sustainable opportunity for investment. Therefore, around 20 investors have collaborated with Ma'an Development Company, raising the total value of investments to JD 110 million. The many incentives that are offered to investors in MDA, coupled with the project's unique synergetic model and Ma'an strategic location and rich history, render MDA a premium investment destination and a place of Pure Tradition and Sure Ambition."
An elaborate corporate video screened at the event allowed attendees to visualize the potential and development of the project, and played a central role in building excitement for the project. The video was followed by a lunch where guests could network with other elite guests, and discuss their ideas and visions for the entire Ma'an Development Area with the management of the Ma'an Development Company and South Company for Construction and Development (SCCD), the company behind the project.
MDA is the first project by SCCD to be developed with the objective of capitalizing on Ma'an's strategic location and key resources and assets while elevating standards of living in Ma'an and around the governorate and the Kingdom as well. Wholly owned by the King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD), SCCD is mandated by His Majesty to develop
the southern regions of the Kingdom through landmark projects that will bring about social and economic prosperity to the area.
Consisting of four complementary clusters including a residential community, an industrial zone, a Hajj city, and a vocational training center, the Ma'an Development Area (MDA) is set to become a regional hub for industrial activity and a centre of excellence for vocational training, as well as a religious landmark for pilgrims on their way to the Holy cities, offering them the ideal environment for their rest, relaxation and prayer. MDA will also be home to a thriving and self-sustained city providing its residents and visitors with a quality living and working environment to fulfill their potential.
