With the enhancement of the new summer flight schedule offer starting 27th March 2006 till 11th October 2006, Lufthansa now flies daily with the A330 featuring the dedicated business class cabin. In addition, every Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays the flights will have an enhanced service offering First Class.
Amman was initially served with Continental product Airbus A320 and 321 Economy and European Business class, no dedicated New Business or First class compartment and no Inflight entertainment onboard. Lufthansa now offers its Jordanian travellers a new comfort in First Class and Business class with its new seats and generous legroom (up to 234 centimetres) in first and (122 centimetres) in Business. In both classes, the seats can be turned into a ‘workplace’ with a laptop powerpoint and individual reading lamp or into a comfortable reclining position for rest and relaxation. In Business class, the seat backrest can be reclined 45 degrees into an easier position to lie back and rest The new First-Class seat can if required also be reclined into a two-metre bed. Bed linen and a quality sweatshirt ensure a passenger enjoys a good night’s sleep (Sleeper Service). A screen at the head of the two-metre bed folds out to ensure more privacy in the airborne bedroom. The Lufthansa Inflynet entertainment on board all classes offers passengers a pleasurable journey.
Mr. Atallah Keshek, Sales Manager & Representative for Jordan, Lufthansa German Airlines, said, “Lufthansa will be the only European Airline serving Jordan with First class out of Amman. The flight schedule change in Jordan will create a positive impact among our passengers. This improvement is to meet our customer demands and offer quality services and travel comfort to our passengers traveling Lufthansa. After the flight schedule enhancement and due to the fact we had different type of aircrafts operating to Amman before with the A320 capacity of 140 passengers & A321 with a capacity of 170 passengers & the A330 -200 with a total of 229 passengers & the A330-300 with a total of 221 passengers, we see a capacity rise increase between 25% - 40%.”
He further stated, “According to Lufthansa planning department, it is planned to have one type of aircraft operating to Amman effective winter schedule which usually starts 27th OCT. It will be the Airbus 330-300 with 3classes effective & no more the A330-200.”
