The trial of two Libyans accused of the December 1988 Lockerbie bombing entered its third day Friday, with police taking the witness box.
All 259 passengers and crew on Pan Am Flight 103 and another 11 people on the ground were killed when a bomb exploded on the Boeing 747 over Lockerbie, Scotland.
Co-accused Abdel-Basset Ali al-Megrahi, 48 and Al-Amin Khalifa Fahima, 44, have pleaded not guilty to the charges of murder, conspiracy to murder and a breach of aviation legislation.
Prosecutors claim the pair were Libyan secret agents who put a Semtex bomb into a suitcase in Malta, where it was put on a plane for Frankfurt, Germany, for transfer to London's Heathrow airport and New York-bound Flight 103.
