linksys targets growing smb sector with advanced, cost-effective router
New Wireless-G Broadband Router Provides Service Providers with
Leading Functionality and Capability for Mass Deployment
Linksys®, a Division of Cisco, a recognized global leader of voice, wireless and networking hardware for consumers and small business environments, launched its latest in wireless routers product line, the Wireless-G Broadband Router with 2 Phone Ports (WRP400).
“The fast pace at which the small business is developing in the Middle East region prompts us to offer them highly sophisticated products that are advanced and efficient, yet user-friendly. This new addition to the line of broadband routers combines Linksys renowned voice, video and data service technology with advanced QoS and secure wireless set-up features into a cost-effective triple-play station,” said Mohammad Hoda, Regional Manager, Linksys Middle East and Africa.
The Linksys WRP400 is an ideal addition for consumers and SOHOs utilizing triple-play networking capabilities as well as service providers interested in broadening their networking offerings with an easy to implement and highly cost-effective solution.
The new router is packed with features in a diminutive footprint including an integrated processor to handle load intensive applications such as voice, data and video with ease. Combined with highly secure wireless-G connectivity the router helps provide uninterrupted throughput within its service range.
“The WRP400 helps address market demands for a robust triple-play device and challenges the market with a cost-effective solution. Benefits to end-users and service providers are clear, and those that have realized the benefits of triple-play connectivity will enjoy an entirely new experience with incredible video and sound clarity as well as consistent data transfer rates,” added Hoda.
Realizing the importance of sound quality in diverse networks, the WRP400 is designed to offer clear, high-quality voice connections. Linksys works to achieve this by utilizing the included processor to complete voice coding algorithms while remaining interoperable with common telephony equipment and services including voicemail, fax and interactive voice response systems.
The Linksys WRP400 combines many, if not all of the customized options that service providers offer to subscribers in an easy-to-implement package. The unit also offers upsell opportunities for single or double play providers by aggregating service features into one unit. Additionally the unit can be remotely provisioned and supports dynamic, in-service software upgrades. A highly secure profile upload saves providers the time, expense and hassle of managing and pre-configuring or re-configuring customer premise equipment (CPE) for maximized deployment options.
