Qatar’s emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, on Tuesday issued a decision to reshuffle the council of ministers.

Kuwiti news agency (KUNA) reported that Ahmad Khalifa Bushirbak Al Mansoori was named minister of education to replace Mohammed Abdulraheem Kafro, who had been in the position since 1996.

Bushirbak was the assistant undersecretary for educational affairs in the ministry of education and higher education.

The emir's decree also separated the ministry of education from the ministry of higher education; therefore another decision will be issued to assign a minister for higher education for the first time in Qatar.

Qatar’s emir recently designated Sheikh Abdullah bin Saud Al Thani as the new chairman of the audit bureau, to replace Abdulawahab bin Hammam Al Abdullah, and also assigned Sheikh Ahmad bin Mohammed al Thani as general secretary of the council of planning, said the agency.

The last cabinet reshuffle in Qatar was last January, when Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalid Al Thani was appointed minister of interior and Sheikh Hamad bin Nasser Al Thani became minister of state for interior affairs – Albawaba.com
