Two Libyan nationals were arrested by Jordanian sky marshals after claiming they had a bomb on a Royal Jordanian Airlines flight to Abu Dhabi, according to CNN television Sunday.

Authorities from the United Arab Emirates and Jordan were investigating the incident aboard Royal Jordanian Airlines Flight 602, which landed at Abu Dhabi International Airport at 3:10 am (local time), according to CNN.

However the plane from the Jordanian capital of Amman departed several hours later for the short flight to Dubai, arriving at 9:09 (local time), airport officials said.

Citing airline and airport officials, CNN added that a search of the two men uncovered no bomb.

The suspects, one of who was in his 20s and one in his 30s, had told a flight attendant they were going to blow up the plane, an Airbus A-340.

Abu Dhabi airport director Khaled Moghrabi, for his part, is expected to issue a press statement later in the day. (Albawaba.com)
