The Associated Press reported Monday that Libya's main eastern militia has agreed to return control of four major state oil terminals to Tripoli.
Libya's offiical state news agency LANA quoted Justice Minister Salah Margani as saying that Tripoli reached a deal with the militia leadership late Sunday.
The deal allegedly outlines a plan in which the militia would "immediately hand over" two of the four terminals, Zuwaitina and Al Hariga. The remaining two, Ras Lanouf and Sidrah, would then be handed over to government control in two to four weeks.
The deal was signed between eastern militia leader Ibrahim Jedran and Tripoli leadership.
The oil terminals, which were seized by the eastern militias last summer to protest the government's operations and distribution of oil wealth, have cost the country millions of dollars.
