According to Libyan security sources, eight Daesh militants stormed a Tripoli airport on Friday and killed three security personnel, reports AFP.
"An armed group carried out an attack this morning on the prison located on the Mitiga air base, to try to free the detainees," the airport security official said, adding that all the attackers died in the incident.
Daesh has since claimed the attack on Twitter.
