At a press conference held at the Jordan Football Association, LG Electronics (LGE) announced its sponsorship of a friendly football match bringing together the Jordanian and Iraqi national football teams and the retirement campaign of Captain Mohannad Mahadeen, Captain of both the Jordan National Football Team and the Al Faisali Team.
The retirement campaign was in commemoration of a football career filled with triumph, and one where Mr. Mahadeen had served to place Jordan on the world map of football. Taking on a leadership post in both Al Faisali and the Jordan National Football teams, Captain Mahadeen was the inspiring force behind Jordan’s elevated status within regional football tournaments.
The conference was held in the presence of H.E. Mr. Nidal Al Hadeed Deputy Chairman of the Jordan Football Association, Mr. Mohammad Al Joueiber Secretary General of Al Faisali Football Club, Mr. Kevin Cha General Manager of the LGE Jordan and Iraqi Offices, Mr. Ghazi Farouq Assistant Managing Director for Marketing at the Middle East Complex, an agent for LGE products in Jordan, and of course Captain Mahadeen.
During the press conference, highlights of Captain Mahadeen’s football career where stated as an icon in the Jordanian football scene. And as a tribute to his achievements, a number of different activities were scheduled for the duration of the upcoming weeks in his honor.
The retirement of Captain Mahadeen will take place during the friendly football match between the Jordanian and the Iraqi National Football Teams which LGE sponsored, scheduled for Friday June 8th at the Amman International Stadium. During the match’s half-time LGE will also be holding a raffle draw for all ticket holders thereby granting them all an opportunity to win fantastic prizes including an LCD 32 inch monitor from LGE, LGE washing machines, a 29 inch TV from LGE, an LGE 21 inch Flatron TV, an LGE 1 ton AC, LGE Audio players, and more.
In an aim to further strengthen the ties held between himself and his fans, Captain Mahadeen will also be present at Mecca Mall on May 24th and 25th to sign posters.
Commenting on LGE’s sponsorship of these events Mr. Cha said, ”It gives us great pleasure to celebrate the accomplishments of Captain Mahadeen, for sports have always been, and will continue to be, an international language that unifies people regardless of their nationalities and political affiliations. Mr. Cha further added that LGE is proud to be the main supporting partner of the friendly match to be held in June, “We feel it is our duty to create opportunities for the Jordanian and Iraqi teams to come together and practice their athletic skills. We feel that such opportunities will help them raise their levels of performance in the future matches they are to play on international levels. We are also firm believers in excellence, and this is what prompts us to embrace the Jordanian and Iraqi football teams. We hope that both teams will continue to project themselves with might and fortitude in their future endeavors, and on this note and on behalf of LGE we hope that Captain Mahadeen continues to succeed in all his future plans”.
Mr. Farouq from his end said, “We are fully aware of the hardships that Iraq has been going through, and it is our role as an international entity that prides itself with its ability to fully integrate with the local communities it operates within to support Jordan and Iraq’s national football teams, we also would like to extend our best wishes to our national team in their participation in the West Asian Football Championship. We will continue to support national initiatives and we are proud to have amongst us Captain Mahadeen, an individual who is the embodiment of success and persistence.”
