Close on the heels of announcing its partnership with fashion label PRADA to launch a luxury phone, global and regional digital leader LG Electronics has added yet another accolade to its luxury phone division – the Special Edition 14-Karat Chocolate Gold.
Like its predecessor, LG’s latest edition of its bestselling Chocolate mobile handset takes the popularity of the Chocolate family to a new level and is designed for style-conscious customers who demand greater functionality and exclusivity in their mobiles, without compromising on quality.
While maintaining the authentic famous glowing-red touch keypad synonymous with the Chocolate family, LG’s new handset will be enhanced by a 14-Karat solid gold band bearing the Chocolate legend. Only 1,000 units will be produced as part of the Special Edition series and will be available in the Middle East this month onwards.
“The LG 14-Karat Chocolate Gold is one of the most upmarket and exclusive products demonstrating LG’s ability to design and introduce stunning masterpieces for a discerning audience,” explained Mr. K. W. Kim, President, LG Electronics – Middle East and Africa operations.
“LG Chocolate Gold Special Edition will undoubtedly appeal to a highly premium segment of consumers who demand the best in everything – style, fashion, features, functionality and design,” he added. “Our latest product further boosts the Chocolate family with a wider product offering in the luxury category.”
The original ‘Black Label’ version has sold over 10 million handsets worldwide since its launch in May 2006 and continues to set the benchmark in design and performance. The handset’s unique styling and touch keypad technology sets it apart from the competition and sells more than 1,500 handsets a day on the average in the Middle East and Africa.
The Special Edition boasts of an impressive on-board functionality that can accommodate an SD card memory slot, an upgraded 2 mega-pixel camera, an FM radio and twice as much on-board memory as the original Chocolate handset (256 MB rather than 128 MB).
The handset also boasts an upgraded class-leading MP3, MPEG-4 and AAC music and video player and A2DP stereo Bluetooth functionality. To complement the handset’s impressive playback capabilities, which also includes a 5-band graphic equaliser, users can search through their music using voice activated commands as well as a keyword search function – ideal for music on the move.
