CNN has announced that Lexus Hybrid is to be the first advertiser on its new CNN Mobile service which launches this week. As part of CNN’s development of new international mobile services, CNN Mobile is re-launching as the news network’s first direct-to-consumer WAP service, providing one of the most comprehensive mobile news sites on the market.
Lexus Hybrid will have banner adverts on the mobile site at launch and also have a pre, and post, advertising roll on the ‘World News Now’ two minute video update, available to all 3G (and some 2.5G) users of CNN Mobile. For Lexus Hybrid the mobile push compliments their wider campaign on both traditional and new media platforms, by giving them 100% share of voice on the mobile service. The advertising deal covers the first month of the new service and will coincide with a major marketing drive by CNN, encompassing on-air, outdoor, print and online advertising, as well as product demonstrations creating innovative opportunities for people to trial the new product.
CNN Mobile allows users to stay informed wherever they are and even access CNN’s ‘In the Field’ blogs from the network’s international correspondents. The new site features a searchable 14-day news archive with over 2000 stories, as well as a breaking news SMS alert service and category-based news sections, including Business, Weather, Entertainment & Lifestyle. The service will be available in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Latin America to all handsets by entering cnnmobile.com in the device internet browser.
