Lebanon Military Investigative Judge Fadi Sawan requested Monday the death penalty for 32 suspects allegedly involved in armed clashes in the northern city of Tripoli.
In the indictment, Sawan accused the 32 men of taking part in armed clashes in Tripoli and of forming an “armed gang" with the intention of killing and intimidating people and undermining the authority of the state.
Only three of the suspects are in custody, a judicial source told The Daily Star.
Sawan referred the case to the military tribunal for trial.
