A woman wearing an explosive belt was arrested near Tripoli Friday, and military authorities are investigating six suspects charged with attempting to carry out terrorist acts.
LBC reported that a woman wearing an explosive belt was arrested in the northern town of Al-Ayrounieh Friday.
According to LBC, the woman’s husband is currently detained on terrorism charges.
Meanwhile, Lebanon Military Investigative Judge Fadi Sawan interrogated six suspects charged with belonging to the Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria and the Nusra Front Friday.
The suspects were also charged with attempts to carry out terrorist acts across Lebanon.
According to the National News Agency, the six men hold Lebanese, Syrian and Palestinian nationalities.
The arrest warrants issued against the suspects could lead to the death penalty.
