An official denied on Friday that Lebanon was facing a gasoline crisis, especially with regard to unleaded fuel, reported the Daily Star newspaper.
Head of the Association of Oil Importing Companies, Bahij Hamze, said that unleaded fuel and other kinds of fuel are being distributed to gas stations as normal.
He said some companies do not have unleaded gasoline while some stations were not equipped to supply unleaded fuel.
Separately, Energy and Water Minister Mohammed Abdel-Hamid Beydoun decided Friday to increase gasoline prices by LL600, while cutting gas and fuel oil prices, said the paper.
A 20-liter tank of unleaded and 98-octane grade gasoline rose to LL15,600, while 20 liters of 92-octane grade increased to LL15,300.
The price of a kiloliter of fuel oil was reduced by $3 to $153. The cost of 10 kilograms of gas for cooking and heating dropped by LL500 to LL9,000, said the paper – Albawaba.com
