Lebanese president Emile Lahoud said on Friday that Lebanon respects the international legitimacy and stressed the need to implement the international legitimate resolutions without any exception, underlining his country’s refusal of any foreign interference.
"Syrian troops have an important role in enhancing stability in Lebanon and protecting its internal arena from the regional developments’ repercussions," Lahoud said.
He also clarified that the Arabs have demanded establishing the just and comprehensive in the region, pointing out that Lebanon has supported the resumption of negotiation on all tracks. He also warned against Israel’s attempts to disrupt any initiative that aims at activating the peace process.
