A Lebanese delegation left Beirut Tuesday for a ten-day visit to Japan as part of a Japanese government-sponsored program to strengthen relations between the two countries, reported the Daily Star newspaper.

It added that the delegation included government officials and businessmen who aim to find ways of boosting trade ties with the Asian country.

Last year, Lebanon imported $211 million worth of Japanese produce, compared to $259 million in the previous year, said the paper.

In contrast, Lebanon only exported $5 million of goods to Japan in 2000 – Albawaba.com
