Lebanon’s Defense Minister Khalil al Harawi left Beirut Sunday on his way to China, heading a high-level delegation for a ten-day visit to that country. The visit comes in response to an invitation extended by the Chinese government.
During his stay, Al Harawi is expected to hold talks with Chinese officials, dealing with cementing bilateral relations between the two countries, notably in the military field, Qatar News Agency reported.
Al Harawi, in addition, is due to sign a military cooperation agreement with his Chinese counterpart and is to visit several military facilities to get acquainted with the latest military technologies and training methods.
Moreover, he will meet with a number of top government officials and the ruling party to review the Middle East peace process and the necessity to implement the United Nations security council resolutions related to Iraq and to Palestine, the agency concluded. (Albawaba.com)
