More than 220 people have been killed in fresh clashes between Maoists and security forces in Nepal, state-run radio said Monday.
Some 200 Maoists, 17 police officers, four soldiers and two civilians were killed when the extreme leftists attacked facilities of the civil administration, police and army in the Solukhumbu district, 280 kilometres (170 miles) northeast of Kathmandu Sunday, the radio said – Kathmandu (AFP)
