At least 20 Syrian soldiers were killed in an explosion of two car bombs which hit the officer club in the city of Deraa, in southern Syria, according to Syrian Observatory of Human Rights (SOHR), a London-based NGO.
The official SANA news agency confirmed the explosion of two car bombs in Deraa, reports of casualties and material damage. The SOHR, Rami Abdel Rahman said that witnesses saw ambulances carrying the dead and wounded at the site of the attack.
A third attack took place in the stadium of the city where a military center was installed, causing no casualties, according to the SOHR.
In the province of Damascus, clashes between regime forces and rebels continued, according to the SOHR. It reported the arrival of military reinforcements to the outskirts of the city of Daraya whose orchards have been the scene of violent clashes for days. A dissident officer was killed in the fighting.
In the governorate of Qouneitra (southwest), the regime's forces bombed villages in the demilitarized Golan, said the SOHR, adding that rebel fighters carried out an attack in during the night between Friday and Saturday against a security center in the village al-Hourria.
Violence killed Friday 151 people - 67 civilians, 31 rebels and 53 members of the regime's forces - according to the SOHR.
