Leading Print and Publishing Companies Support Dubai Print Award 2008  

 

Six debuting Digital Printing Maximum Size (A3) awards included in 20 competition categories

 

Under the Patronage of H.H. Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Dubai Print Award 2008 will be held on the 27th of January 2009.

 

At a press conference held today, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Printing and Publishing Group (PPG) announced the sponsors and distinguished jury members of the Dubai Print Award 2008

 

Leading international, regional and local companies have committed their support for the Dubai Print Award 2008 ceremony.  The companies include Heidelberg (Gold sponsor); Xerox, Fairs and Exhibitions, Giffin Graphics, HP, Prestige Graphics (Silver sponsors); and Bobst, Gimpex, Orchid, Gulf Commercial Group, Grapholine, Afra and GEC (Pressteck) (Bronze sponsors). Special barter partners include Masar Printing Press (Platinum Sponsors), Khaleej Times (Silver sponsors) and Crystal Gallery (Official Trophy Suppliers).

 

The Dubai Print Award recognises outstanding excellence in 20 print and publishing categories. The award is organised by the Printing and Publishing Group (PPG), an industry group established under the umbrella of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI).

Nominees of the Award will compete in 20 categories which feature six new Digital Printing Maximum Size (A3) awards. The Digital Printing category will encompass Point-of-Purchase Materials, Posters, Annual Reports, Cards, Brochures and Catalogues, and Newsletters.

 

The Printing and Publishing Group also announced six members of the Award’s judging panel who include distinguished industry personalities with diverse backgrounds. The panel members include Thomas Kuen, Department Head for Print Finishing of Fogra Forschungesellschaft Druck e.V.; Nicholas R. Jung, Scheme Director of London College of Communication; Karl Kowalczyk, Vice President for Print Media Centre of Heidelberg Druckmaschinen AG; Daniel Siegel, Technical Services Manager of UPM – Kymmene Sales GMBH; Joachim Englich, CEO, Heidelberg Druckmaschinen; and Hemant Ranadive, Production Head of FCB Ulka India.
