After a long career as an athlete, but afflicted in the past few years by injuries, Zahra Ouaziz has decided to retire and to take up a new career as an elite trainer for youths with the potential to compete in the world championships of 2005, according to the official Moroccan press agency, <i>MAP</i>.
Ouaziz told <i>MAP</i> that after a series of injuries, she had decided together with her trainer-father, Mohamed Ouaziz, that is was now time for a new career as a trainer. She said this switch would enable her to devote her considerable experience to future Moroccan generations of athletes.
She has won a long series of medals in international championships and has become a national hero.
