Recently the activities of the 5th edition of Amman Summer Festival 2010 has been launched at Al Hussein Parks, and it will be running until 31 July 2010.
Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) calls on citizens, Arab and foreign tourists, and the families to attend the Festival's activities held daily and for free along the two coming months.
The opening ceremony will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday 18/7/2010, within a carnival atmosphere, accompanied with nationalistic shows honoring the King and the Country by the Public Security Directorate's Band, another performances for Al Khareqoun (the Incredible) Band for modern dance, in addition to the concert by Wissam and Hussam Al Louzi, with the participation of GAM's Band for Folkloric Arts.
The kids are daily invited to meet several cartoon characters and live entertaining shows with the magician, as well as listening to stories and watching plays of Kanafeesh's world at the area allocated for children within the Festival.
There will be also a huge participation on the main theatre by local artists, such as Hussein Al Salman, Saad Abu Tayeh, Met'eb Al Saggar, Jehad Sarkis, Rami Al Khalid, Tawfeeq Al Dalow, Tony Qattan, and Yahya Al Sweis, to present artistic tableaus on the main theatre of the Park, in addition to many social comic plays.
This year activities include sport performances on the playgrounds of Al Hussein Parks, with interactive participation of Jordan athletes with the children, as well as exhibitions of plastic art, photography and handicrafts at the cultural village.
Activities are to take place daily from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and GAM has completed all the preparations for this purpose, which should attract huge number of citizens, Arab and foreign tourists.
GAM targets through organizing this annual, free, diverse, and popular family carnival, at activating the touristic movement in Amman and make the City a touristic attraction point for all the world's countries.
It is worth noting that about 600 – 650 thousand citizens of Amman residents and visitors from the Kingdom provinces and the Arab countries visited Amman Summer Festival last year.
