The LR3, Land Rover’s technology packed, premium SUV designed to deliver outstanding performance, both on and off-road is now available in two engine variants: the 4.4 litre 300 bhp petrol V8 and a new 4.0 litre petrol V6.
The addition of a new engine variant in the LR3 range will provide consumers a wider choice to select a model that suits their driving expectations in terms of power and performance.
Both petrol engines are matched to a six-speed ‘intelligent shift’ electronically controlled ZF automatic transmission that offers a sport mode to deliver more performance and a Command Shift operation which gives the driver full manual control of gear changing.
Speaking on the arrival of the new V6 engine variant of LR3, Andy Gawthorpe, Managing Director, Land Rover Middle East said, “The arrival of the new engine variant will make our LR3 product offering even more desirable. The objective of increasing the range of model variants is to cater to a wider audience by offering different product specifications that will provide our consumers more choice.”
He added, “ LR3 is a new generation vehicle that has paved the way forward for the brand. With over 45 international awards to its credit, the product has been a complete winner. The success of LR3 attributes to the bold, distinctive design, user-friendly technology, spacious comfort and dynamic performance that it offers. ”
Both LR3 engine variants are available at all Land Rover dealer outlets across the Middle East and the price range varies from $39,700 to $59,000 depending on model specification and local market duties.
2005 witnessed Land Rover’s best performance with 21% increase in sales and the company expects this positive trend to continue though 2006 as well.
The brand’s success has been the result of the new premium SUV portfolio which now includes the Range Rover for 2006, the brand’s flagship model; the Range Rover Sport, the Sports Tourer and performance SUV and the all-new LR3, the brand’s new luxury family SUV.
