Lalla Hasna chairs opening of 4th Mawazine festival

The Moroccan princess Lalla Hasna has chaired in Rabat, the opening ceremony of the fourth "Mawazine Rythmes of the world" festival, initiated by Morocco Cultures Association, under the patronage of King Mohammed VI.

 

On her arrival, the princess was greeted by a number of officials, who attended the opening ceremony, including Mohamed Saad El Alami, the Minister in charge of ties with the Moroccan Parliament, Hassan Amrani, the wali (governor) of the area of Rabat-Sale -Zemmour-Zaer and by Jamaleddine Dkhissi, director of the national Theatre Mohammed V.

 

EMarrakech reports that during the inaugural ceremony Mr. Abdeljalil Lahjoumri, the president of the Mawazine festival asserted that the Mawazine festival has been striving since its creation to advance and assist cultural and artistic interaction between al the cultures of the world. He added that the Morocco Cultures Association, which initiated the festival, is determined to preserve this feature of the festival by maintaining its exceptional linguistic and cultural diversity. This year’s festival will host artists coming from Africa, Latin America, Asia, the Caribbean, Europe and the Middle East, Morocco will be represented in the festival by Abdelwahhab Doukkali.
