Kuwaiti ambassador in Algiers, Shamlan al-Roumi met on Wednesday with Algerian parliament speaker Kareem Yunis, within the context of a series of talks he has held with a number of Algerian political officials.

Al-Roumi told the Kuwait News Agency that he conveyed the best wishes of Kuwaiti national assembly speaker Jasem al-Khorafi to Yunis for being selected speaker of the parliament last June.

Al-Roumi further said that he briefed Yunis regarding the issue of the Kuwaiti missing persons and POWs, still being detained in Iraqi prisons. The two men also discussed Kuwaiti investments in Algeria, besides ways of strengthening bilateral relations in all fields.

Yunis, on his part, underscored the Algerian parliament's keenness on the exchange of visits among the parliamentary delegations and expressed readiness to re-activate the parliamentary Kuwaiti-Algerian friendship committee for fostering cooperation, KUNA concluded. (Albawaba.com)
