Kuwaiti authorities have confiscated more than 35,000 pirated compact disks from several duplication centers and shops owned by one Kuwaiti company, reports said.
An alliance of the world’s leading software developers said in a statement that “it was one of the country’s largest resellers of computer products.
The disks were in two flats used for duplication and five shops, all in one mall in Hawalli, a suburb of Kuwait City, said Bahrain Times.
The UAE-based watchdog that combats the spread of illegal software, has sued a leading Kuwait company for using pirated programs.
It estimates that nine out of 10 programs used by companies in the country are stolen, and software developers lose around $10 million a year to illegally copied programs – Albawaba.com
