Kuwait's Crown Prince Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah told Kuwaitis Monday that "heavenly justice was finally done" as Saddam Hussein was captured.
According to KUNA, Sheikh Saad said that he shares citizens' "joy and relief" over the arrest of Saddam Hussein "who committed the most hideous brutal crimes against our peaceful people, and caused pains and suffering whose traces can still be seen in every home in Kuwait."
He also hoped that the end of Saddam would bring about stability and prosperity to the Iraqi people.
Meanwhile, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid-Reza Asefi on Sunday expressed his satisfaction with the arrest of Saddam Hussein and announced that the Iranian nation shares its happiness with the Iraqi people.
"Certainly, the arrest of Saddam will heal the profound wounds of the Iranian people, particularly of relatives of the war martyrs and disabled," Asefi said. "The history of Saddam`s crimes, in particular those regarding its people and the regional nations, including making use of chemical weapons, are unforgettable," he said, adding that an open trial of Saddam and his collaborators will help restore parts of the violated rights of the people.
