A Kuwaiti military cargo plane flew out on Wednesday loaded with 10 tons of medical aid for Palestinians wounded in clashes with Israeli forces, the official news agency KUNA reported.

The Hercules C-130, with a medical team and Kuwait Red Crescent volunteers on board, was headed for Amman.

The emir, Sheikh Jaber al-Ahmad al-Sabah, ordered humanitarian aid to be sent "in a sign of solidarity with the Jerusalem uprising", KUNA said, adding that a second consignment would follow on Thursday.

Sixty-six, all but three of them Arabs, have been killed since September 28 in clashes with Israeli forces that have swept through the Palestinian territories and spilled over into Arab areas of northern Israel.

Kuwait, while still at odds with Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat for siding with Iraq after its 1990 invasion of Kuwait, has condemned the "savage aggression" of Israeli forces - KUWAIT CITY (AFP)
