Kuwait donates US$2 million as aid to victims of Asian quake

Kuwait Cabinet on Sunday declared that the State of Kuwait is to donate US$2 million as aid to the victims of Asian quake that hit Indonesia, India, Sri Lanka, the Maldives and Thailand.

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs Mohammed Dhaifallah Sharar noted the donation, after the Cabinet's weekly meeting, KUNA reported.

 

The latest reports from the affected region, said more than 6,300 people were killed by tsunami waves triggered by an 8.9 magnitude earthquake in southern Asia on Sunday morning.
