Kuwait has denied that there are secret talks with Iraq with the mediation of Saudi Arabia to solve the Iraq-Kuwait conflict, reported the official Kuwaiti news agency (KUNA).

Kuwait's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed Sabah al-Sabah was cited as saying that these allegations were baseless and that there is no such initiative.

His comments came in response to a report carried by AFP which cited an Arab diplomat as saying Saturday that "secret talks are continuing ... even indirect talks between Baghdad and Saudi Arabia and Kuwait."

The Arab summit held in Amman last month failed to reconcile Iraq and Kuwait, but charged Jordan's King Abdullah II with undertaking further consultations and contacts - Albawaba.com
