A bomb targeted a Kurdish general in the usual peaceful northern Iraq territory, according to Agence France-Presse Sunday.
Magnetic "sticky bombs" were attached to Brigadier General Bakhtiyar Fayikh's car outside him home in eastern Sulaimaniyah, but the general escaped unscathed. Only the car was damaged in the attack.
Fayikh, who is a member of Kurdistan's internal security force, described the attack as a "terrorist operation."
Two other sticky bomb attacks in early December wounded two Kurdish security officers, and a massive assault on Kurdistan's internal security's headquarters in the capital of Erbil killed 7 in late September last year.
However, Kurdistan has largely "been spared" by growing sectarian unrest and violence throughout Iraq and is usually quite peaceful.
