Kraft Acquires Morocco's Leading Coffee Company

US Kraft Foods International said it has acquired Societe des Cafes Ennasr, the leading producer and marketer of roast and ground coffee in Morocco, reported ArabicNews.com. 

Societe des Cafes Ennasr is a privately held company that manufactures well-known Moroccan coffee brands including Samar and Gaouar.  

The Moroccan company had a nearly 25 percent share of Morocco's estimated $100 million packaged coffee market last year.  

The company's production facility and distribution center are based in Casablanca. 

“We will develop the coffee market and gain a strong foothold in the growing beverage business in North Africa,” said Frank Rosa, Kraft Foods International Area Vice President for the Middle East, Africa and Turkey. 

The news service added that Societe des Cafes Ennasr will be integrated into Kraft Foods International, part of Kraft Foods, the global food business of Philip Morris Companies Inc.
