Within the framework of psychological support offered to patients at the King Hussein Cancer Center, the King Hussein Cancer Foundation, in cooperation with the Center, celebrated Mothers Day on March 26th, 2008. The event was organized for female patients that receive treatment at the Center. Mrs. Marie-Claire Marroum, owner of Kashmir & Argeelah Restaurant, who regularly supports many of the Foundation's activities and programs, organized this event in cooperation with the Foundation and bared all its expenses.
The celebration aimed at spreading an atmosphere of joy and happiness in the lives of those female patients during their long treatment period; it is noteworthy that the Center organizes different programs and activities that continue during the year, and aim at enhancing the patients psychological health; such programs and activities play an active role in helping patients engage in a healthy psychological environment.
As part of the celebration program, the band of Kashmir & Argeelah Restaurant comprising of Mr. Muthafar Al-Ameer and Mr. Adnan Lazar performed various Arabic songs to entertain the guests. During the event, a raffle on gifts which were donated to the Foundation took place. Also, Mrs. Marie-Claire Marroum and Abu Shakra distributed other gifts to all participating guests.
HRH Princess Dina Mired, Director General of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation thanked Mrs. Marie-Claire Marroum for organizing the event and for her continuous support to the Foundation. She also showed appreciation to all generous donors who contributed to the event. HRH Princess Dina added “this celebration will have a positive impact on female patients. The Foundation and Center seek to continue such activities, as they evidently have a positive psychological and moral impact on the patients."
Mrs. Marie-Claire Marroum added "Mother’s day is for all mothers wherever they may be. What we are and who we, we owe to our mothers. Thank you to HRH Princess Dina Mired for giving Kashmir & Argeelah Restaurant the opportunity to show gratitude to the mothers at the King Hussein Cancer Center. We treasure such precious moments". It is worth mentioning that Mrs. Marie-Claire Marroun organized in the past two years successful Christmas Parties for young patients undergoing treatment at the Center.
