Jordan’s King Abdullah has invited journalists and businessmen to brief them on a historic free trade agreement signed with the US nearly two years ago and enforced in the past few weeks, the Jordanian embassy said Sunday.

The King will explain the benefits of the agreement, the fourth to be signed by the US with another single country, before answering questions by reporters in a satellite link-up involving the UAE, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Kuwait.

The King will make the statements on Wednesday and journalists, diplomats and businessmen in those countries have been invited, according to Gulf News

"It is a very important agreement as it will facilitate the entry of Jordanian exports to the United States and provide a safe and secure climate for American and other foreign investments in Jordan," Turki Al Khrisha, the Jordanian Ambassador said.

Furthermore, he added that the 19-point accord covers several fields, including trade of goods and services, investment, environment, labor, customs reductions and intellectual property. (Albawaba.com)
