The Marketing and Business Development Department at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah prepares for new developments and services where the airport industry witnessed a number of new airlines preparing their entrance into Saudi Arabia with first flights coming into King Abdulaziz International Airport. JET AIRWAYS the international private Indian airline began its daily nonstop flights from Mumbai to Jeddah as part of the airline’s expansion within the Middle East.  King Abdulaziz International Airport also witnessed a new development with the official opening of the newest ALFURSAN Lounge in the South Terminal.

Arriving in Jeddah the first flight for JET AIRWAYS was received on 15th July by company’s team members and the airport officials who were the first to greet the passengers, many arriving for Umrah and business visits, as they disembarked from the flight. Already in early June British Airways had resumed their flights to Jeddah.

After much anticipated wait the ALFURSAN Lounge offers all the amenities promised including special play areas for children, an appetizing buffet featuring a number of hot and cold dishes, internet services and relaxing seating areas each with its own wide screen TV to choose from a number of channels and films on display.  Strategically located overlooking the airport runway the lounge services are available for all First Class, Business Class passengers and Gold & Silver ALFURSAN card members.

Based on research and assessment of the needs of the business travellers the ALFURSAN lounge set the style of service and atmosphere for the benefit of its travellers across the airports in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia including King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and King Khaled Airport in Riyadh.  Inspecting the new lounge services and structure prior to its opening was Eng. Mazen A. Al-Khashoggi, Director General of King Abdulaziz International Airport and officials from Saudi Arabian Airlines and the lounge developer and operator Saudi Arabian Airlines Catering Company.

Speaking on behalf of King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, Mr. Abdulelah Falemban Secretary Supervisory Committee KAIA commented:  “Today Saudi Arabia is viewed as a leading economic and business center with the various development projects and initiatives being launched the aviation industry must be ready to support the influx of needs that are to be met.  Our role in King Abdulaziz Airport is to insure we are able to provide all that’s required to support the aviation industry to insure capacities are met and served in the best possible manner.”

“Provision of a high level of service and standards is what we are aiming for at King Abdulaziz International Airport and continuing building on the services from every aspect to serve all our passengers,” he continued, and added “this is a gradual process, however.”
