In implementation of its continuous support to the Jordanian sports sector, Kia Motors Jordan, the world’s fastest growing automotive brands, allocated the Kia Service Centre for the check up and maintenance purposes for Tal Al Rumman Hill Climb contestants, which took place last month.
The Kia Service Centre situated in Wadi Al Sir, has been specifically established and equipped with hi-tech facilities and state of the art amenities to cater for the needs of the Jordanian races and rallies. Kia Motors Jordan also provided the Tal Al Rumman Hill Climb with tents, safety points and other service stations.
During a ceremony held under the patronage of HRH Price Faisal Bin Al Hussein, the head of Tal Al Rumman Hill Climb Rally, HRH thanked Kia Motors Jordan and granted them an honorary trophy as a token of appreciation for their support and consolidation of the Jordanian sports industry in general and the Jordan motor sports in specific.
“We strongly believe in the important role of sports in spiritual and physical rejuvenation. Building a strong sportive base in the Kingdom is an ultimate goal of Kia’s that we strive to achieve through our multiple sponsorships and sports initiatives launched locally and internationally throughout the year” stated Nihad Zacharia, General Manager of National Arab Motors- Kia Motors Jordan.
Zacharia, a member of the Jordan Rally Board, also highlighted the important role played by Jordan in enriching the local sports industry, which offers Kia an opportunity to further develop this sector and enhance its performance. Kia Motors has a strong interest in sports demonstrated in its production of state of the art sport cars coincident with young generations and their sporty spirit.
Tal Al Rumman Hill Climb featured the participation of 35 contestants from numerous countries including Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Kuwait, Qatar, UAE and the United Kingdom. the first position was swept off by the Lebanese contestant, Roger Fghali, who achieved an astounding record breaking result of 1:48:76 seconds.
Tal Al Tumman witnessed a large number of local and international motor sport activities. The Tal Al Rumman Hill Climb came inline with his Majesty the late King Hussein Bil Talal’s vision who was a major supporter of motor sport initiatives. King Hussein has participated in this particular race several times, last of which was in 1996 when his Majesty broke the record and won the race. After his Majesty passing in 1999, the race was called “Al Hussein Race”.
Kia’s organization of this event is yet another endeavor highlighting the corporation’s commitment to youth and sports activities. Over the years Kia has sponsored the Davis Cup, The Tennis Tournament in Australia, EURO 2008 and other local and international events.
