In line with its sponsorship of the South Africa 2010 World Cup, National Arab Motors (Kia Jordan), in association with Kia Motors Corporation, announced the launch of the Kia Mascot Friends competition.

Kia’s exclusive rights are endorsed by FIFA to provide Football fans around the world with an ultimate experience at the 2010 FIFA World Cup stadium.

The competition, which is organized as part of the company’s preparations for the World Cup, will present children between the ages of 8 and 14 with the opportunity to accompany the official mascot of the 2010 World Cup – the famed South African “Zukami” on the field before the tournament kicks-off. Those interested in entering the competition are asked to visit Kia’s showroom in Mecca Street to make an appointment to test-drive one of Kia’s vehicles and take pictures with a replica of the Zukami mascot. These pictures can either be uploaded via Kia Jordan’s website at www.kiajordan.com or picked up at the showroom, at which point the participant would have already entered the draw.

Commenting on this initiative, National Arab Motors’ Vice Chairman Nihad Zacharia said: “We launched this competition because we wanted to give children in Jordan the opportunity to participate in this important global event, especially since many of them have an immense passion for football. We hope that, through this initiative, we will give them the opportunity to exercise this passion in new and exciting ways so as to bolster their enthusiasm and strengthen their potential.”

The Kia Mascot Friends is the second competition launched by National Arab Motors, following the recently launched Kia Champ into the Arena – the largest football tournament in the Kingdom. The company intends to launch one more competition as part of its World Cup campaign, which will be announced at a later date.
